I know this might sound one of those 'neighbour's grass is always greener' cases (which might be the real case).. But I think the beauty of the four seasons is one of the most wonderful things in life..
I look at it as part of the rhythm of life in this part of the world. After all, if we didn't have short days in winter, we wouldn't have wonderful long evenings in summer.
But maybe I've had longer to adapt to it than some!

Even this photo makes me miss Scotland! 42 C here the other day - too too hot! Give me six hours of daylight any time!

I agree with you morven, 42 C is not something I enjoy.
42'C isn't a climate - that's an ordeal!
Personally I love the gloom!
It is an ordeal, which gets me wondering why I wanted to settle in the desert in the first place...oh, yeh, wide open spaces.
The skies this morning were overcast with a hint of rain in the air. Absolutely invigorating.
